Namisindwa District Woman legislator Peace Khalayi wants parents and guardians to prioritize their children’s education.

According to Khalayi, education helps to drive development in the district. Khalayi sounded the call on Sunday, October 4, 2026, while addressing a congregation at Bunamulunyi Parish Church of Uganda in Mukoto Sub-county, Namisindwa District, during a fundraising drive to construct a house for the parish Vicar.

She called on parents to prioritize their children’s education stressing that education is essential for improving livelihoods and accelerating development in the district. She noted that Namisindwa has continued to lag behind partly because parents have not prioritized education.

Namisindwa LCV Chairperson, Emma Bwayo, urged residents to embrace and participate in government programs.

The Archdeacon of Bupoto Archdeaconry, Venerable Canon Emmanuel Masolo said they have so far collected 8 million shillings out of 84 million shillings required for the completion of the Vicar’s house.
