The
police in Manafwa District are looking for a group of men that allegedly gang
raped a 28 year old woman and later strangled her to death on Easter Monday.

Taitika has identified the victim as Wabule Juliet. According to Taitika Wabule
was on her way home from a drinking joint at 4:00am when she met a group of men
who allegedly grabbed and gang raped her and later strangled her to death.
Taitika says the group thereafter dumped
Wabule’s body in Bumufuni Cell 1 in Bugobero Town Council, Manafwa District. He
says the victim was moving with a 10 year old girl who escaped to a nearby home
after realizing that her aunt had been attacked. The deceased’s body was taken
to Mbale City mortuary for postmortem.
Taitika has urged the public to avoid late
night movements in isolated areas. He has also condemned the practice of
exposing minors to bars.
