A primary school under the auspices of the Christian Childcare Programme (CCP) has been opened in Bumasikye village, Busoba Sub County in Mbale District with a view of boosting education standards in rural Bugisu.

CCP Family Primary School is a brain child of CCP Vocational Training Centre. Dr. Richard Watulo the CCP Uganda Board Chairperson says that the school will reduce the distance the children have been moving to access education. Watulo is optimistic that the school will also help in shaping the morals of the children since it is hinged on Christian values.

The CCP Netherlands Board Chairperson Fred Meijer which is affiliated to CCP Uganda says the primary school will help in improving literacy levels in the area. Meijer said the donation towards the construction of the Primary School will have a positive impact on Uganda.

Nathan Walyaula the CCP Uganda Executive Director says the setting up of the primary school was informed by a survey which identified a need to bridge the gap in the education sector especially in the rural areas.
