East Buganda Regional Kadhi Calls on Muslims to Use Mosques for Unity, Development, and Leadership


Kakoola, Nakasongola , The East Buganda Regional Kadhi has urged Muslims to utilize mosques as centres for unity, poverty eradication, and community development. His message, delivered by Luwero District Kadhi Sheikh Hajji Mulindwa Ramadhan Swaib during the commissioning of a new mosque at Kakoola Village, emphasized the Qur’anic teaching to “hold firmly to the rope of Allah altogether.”

He encouraged the establishment of mosque-based saving groups to fight poverty, strengthen livelihoods, and promote self-reliance. The Kadhi thanked Mr. Dirisa Kamya for donating land, describing it as a timeless act of faith, and applauded Hajji Twaha Muluya, Country Director of Efforts for Humanity Uganda, for funding the construction with transparency and dedication.

He further urged Muslims to respect leaders at all levels, follow UMSC programs, and actively engage in the forthcoming elections. Sheikh Habib Musa Kikabi was appointed acting Imaam and interim Chairman. The ceremony attracted religious, political, and community leaders.
