Candidates for the Namisindwa Woman Parliamentary position have pledged to prioritize the development of a good road network and economic empowerment for the people once elected.

The pledge was made during a joint campaign meeting for candidates seeking to become the NRM flag bearer for the Namisindwa Woman Parliamentary position. The joint campaign meeting was held at Bubutu Town Council playground on Sunday.

Peace Khalayi one of the candidates said that since Namisindwa is a hard to reach area, there is need to lobby for improvement in the road network to ease movement of agricultural produce once elected. Khalayi cited the poor state of roads in the sub counties of Mukoto, Tsekululu and Bumbo saying access to these areas is very challenging.

Dorothy Nebokhe Walukawu another candidate promised to support women and youth SACCOS in a bid to boost household income.

Grace Watuwa is another candidate vying for the NRM flag for the position of Namisindwa District Member of Parliament. Watuwa faced criticism over stopping the operations of an ambulance she donated. In defense, Watuwa claimed that the ambulance developed a mechanical glitch and was recalled for repair.
