Police in Mbale are holding a 50-year-old man on allegations of defiling two girls aged 11 and 13 years.
Rogers Taitika the Elgon Region Police Spokesman identifies the suspect as Saibu Magalama, a resident of Bugema C in Mbale Industrial Division.
According to Taitika the suspect is believed to have lured the girls with sugarcane. Taitika says the two girls ended up in Saibu’s room where they were defiled. Taitika has called for responsible parenting in order to fight cases of defilement in the region. The suspect faces charges of aggravated defilement.
