Wamana Peter, a parliamentary candidate for Namisindwa County Constituency, has joined residents of Bisusha, Nabitere, Wambewo, Tirinye, and Bunasimbi villages in Bunasimbi Parish, Tsekululu Sub-county, Namisindwa District, to launch the construction of a new community road. The 4km feeder road connects Bunasimbi Trading Center to the Uganda Wildlife Station, Tsekululu Branch, located in Mount Elgon National Park.

The initiative was led by LCII Chairman Mr. Simpoli Charles and Tsekululu Parish Speaker Ms. Wambewo Jennifer, who mobilized youth, women, and men for the communal project. All six LCI chairpersons actively participated and expressed their gratitude to Wamana Peter for his continued support of community development.

Wamana provided financial support, as well as meals and refreshments, to facilitate the work. The community began construction on Saturday, February 22, 2025, focusing on improving access to the remote villages.

Speaking about the project, Wamana emphasized that the new road will ease the transportation of agricultural produce such as beans, cabbages, onions, carrots, maize, bananas, and animal fodder, boosting local farming activities and enhancing economic opportunities.

Residents are optimistic that the road will improve their daily lives and stimulate economic growth. Wamana called on district leaders and other stakeholders to contribute resources, including marram, to strengthen the road’s durability, especially during the rainy season.

Emma Bwayo, the Youth Councillor for Namisindwa District and an LCV Chairperson aspirant, commended the youth and local leaders for their collective efforts. He criticized local authorities for failing to prioritize such essential infrastructure projects, stating that “if the leadership was sincere, such works would be fixed by authorities.”
