Police in Busia are investigating circumstances under which a suspected thief was shot and injured by a security guard.
Shedrach Omukaga aged 22 years and a resident of Wagagai premises in Alupe village, Buteba Sub county in Busia District reportedly broke into the stores of Wagagai mining company with intentions of stealing.
A security guard only identified as Maa attached to Saracen Ltd shot him in the leg.
Moses Mugwe the Bukedi South Police Spokesman says Omukaga was found with exhibits like saw cutter, knife. Mugwe says that two cartridges were also found at the scene. Mugwe says that Omukaga is receiving treatment at Busia Health Centre IV
