Catherine Lunyolo the head teacher
St. Joseph Primary School, Naluwande in Magale Sub County, Namisindwa District is
on the spot for poor academic performance of the school.
As a
result, angry parents closed Lunyolo’s office calling for her immediate
transfer.
Fred
Masolo, Nicholas Makanda and Mukoya Florence say that the head teacher has
failed to cooperate with teachers and parents and this has led to declining
academic performance. They also accuse Lunyolo of mismanaging school funds and
failure to convene meetings.
Sarah
Namalwa, the female district councilor for Magale and Buwambwa Sub counties has
asked the education authorities at the District to handle the matter.
In
response, Catherine Lunyolo the school’s head teacher says that despite the
parents having a right to the affairs of the school, she should be allowed to
professionally run the school.
Banuli Mukisu, the Namisindwa District Inspector of Schools says that they are investigating the matter but have now opened the head teachers’ office after a meeting with the parents and the school authorities.
