The Bishop of Ruwenzori Diocese Rt Rev Reuben Kisembo has called for the prosecution of all those involved in the iron sheets scandal.

Bishop Kisembo said this will instill confidence in the public about the government’s commitment to the fight against corruption.

The Bishop made the remarks while delivering his Easter message. He was speaking hours after the Minister for Karamoja Affairs Mary Goretti Kitutu was charged and remanded to Luzira Prison for three counts of corruption, conspiracy to defraud, and loss of government property.

Bishop Kisembo said that prosecuting Kitutu alone yet a number of government ministers and Members of Parliament were implicated in the iron sheets saga is not enough. The Bishop described Minister Kitutu's appearance in the Anti-Corruption Court as a selective application of the law.

The Police have since announced that they were investigating 22 Ministers, 31 Members of Parliament, and 13 Chief Administrative Officers believed to have received the iron sheets.
