Panic at Lwakhakha Border After Robbery

There is panic at the Uganda-Kenya Lwakhakha border in Lwakhakha Town Council, Namisindwa District, after an attack on a local money lender who lost 14 million Shillings to robbers.


According to Muhamed Kisongotsi, the LCIII Chairperson of Lwakhakha Town Council, the victim is David Mayukuma, who has been lending money at the border. The LCIII Chairperson stated that Mayukuma was forced to hand over the money to the attackers Monday before they fled the scene.

Julie Namara, the Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner, has confirmed the attack and warned that theft-related crimes are expected to increase as the festive season approaches. She urged LCI chairpersons to promptly report any suspicious individuals to security leaders for verification.
