A section of councillors at Sironko District Local Government Council want members of the District Executive Committee (DEC) shuffled.

Muhammad Wakwaba the councillor representing Namugabwe Sub County claims that during the appointment and subsequent approval of the District Executive Committee in 2021, Livingstone Giruli the District Chairperson promised to make changes after two and a half years. Wakwaba says they are surprised the changes have not been made and despite reminding Giruli, this has not been done.

Meris Mudenga the Mutufu town council councillor says it is unfortunate that Giruli has not kept his promise.

Fred Gidongo councillor for Busamaga Sub County says that most of the DEC members belong to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and might have a plan of failing the chairperson in the execution of his mandate. Gidongo a member of the Forum for Democratic Change has threatened to move a motion to impeach Giruli.

But Yeku Gudoyi, the councillor representing Bubeza Sub County admits Giruli made the promise but can’t be coerced into making changes. Effort to get a comment from Livingstone Giruli were futile.
