Police in Namisindwa district have arrested a 70-year-old man on allegations of raping, defiling, and murdering his 9-year-old granddaughter.

He is suspected of later dumping the body in a nearby bush. The suspect has been identified as John Wandabwa a resident of Bukikai village, Tabino parish Bukiabi sub-county in Namisindwa district.
Stephen Marutu a maternal uncle to the deceased says the suspect has been living with the girl for the last two years after her father Alex Wandabwa left for Kenya in search for work. The suspect reportedly convinced the minor to go alongside him as he took out the goats for grazing. He reportedly pounced on the minor, defiled, killed her and dumped the body in the bush.Tags
