Namisindwa District Woman MP hopeful Peace Khalayi Simiyu has donated ten solar security lights to aid visibility in major trading centres in Tsekululu and Bukokho Sub Counties.

Speaking at the handover at Tsekululu Sub County on Saturday, Khalayi said the solar security lights are aimed at creating visibility for small scale business owners especially women who operate roadside businesses in the night.

Khalayi says that many single mothers support their families through small scale businesses and therefore must be supported with solar security lighting in the trading centres.

Women like Racheal Nakhabala who deals in vegetables at Tsekululu trading centre and Margaret Khabuya a retail shop owner at Bukokho trading centre want government to speed up the rural electrification programme in the area. The two women say that the Sub Counties of

Tsekululu, Mukoto, Bukokho, Bumbo, Bupoto, Bukhabusi and Buwatuwa have no electricity supply.

Moses Waburoko the councilor representing Tsekululu Sub County says they have notified their legislators about the need to lobby for electricity connectivity in Namisindwa.
