35 year old in Namisindwa survives Lynching

A 35 year old man in Namisindwa District survived being lynched by an angry mob after he was suspected of stealing property of one of the residents.

 


The suspect has been identified as Isaac Watila a resident of Bumungasa village, Butemulani parish, Bumwoni Sub County in Namisindwa district.

 

George Walubengo one of the area resident accuses Watila of using a master key to access Mrtin Kyerobe’s house. Kyerobe was not at home at the time the break-in occurred. He says that Watila stole two television sets, three radio sets, beds and clothing. Watila was found with the stolen items destined for sale when the residents started beating him up. He was only saved by the area LCI Chairperson, Martin Makhete.

 

Martine Makhete the LCI chairperson confirms the incident and says they have recovered the stolen items and handed them back to Kyerobe.
