Namisindwa leaders are concerned with the deteriorating state of the Nakhaya Bridge.
The bridge is located in Buwatuwa Sub County along the Buwabwala-Nasongwe road. It connects Manafwa town council to Buwatuwa and Bukhabusi Sub Counties.
Wilson Walimbwa the councilor representing Buwatuwa Sub county councilor attributes the poor state of Nakhaya Bridge to lack of maintenance. Walimbwa says the concrete pillars that support the bridge have developed cracks and the metal beams has rust.
Mwelu Abneli the Buwabwala Parish Councilor says despite several reminders to work on the bridge, authorities have not responded.
Bwayo Emma the Namisindwa district male youth councilor has asked the technical team at the District to respond to the pleas of the leaders by either carrying out repairs or replacing the bridge.
Davis Walyaula the works committee chairperson says that after fixing the Wabalwa-Nasongwe road, they have no funds to work on other bridges in Namisindwa.
