Sarah Nambozo Wekomba the former Woman Member of Parliament for Bulambuli District says she will contest in the 2026 general election with a view of reclaiming the position.

Wekomba lost to Engineer Irene Nafuna Muloni in the 2021 general election. Speaking at the burial of Nabala Aaron in Busangayi village, Bufumbula parish, Nabbongo Sub County and David Khatondi in Sukuya village, Simu parish in Bukhalu Sub County on Monday, Wekomba said some people have been spreading falsehoods about her candidature claiming that she will not vie for the Bulambuli District Woman Parliamentary position. She assured the people of Bulambuli District that she will appear on the ballot in 2026.

Samali Namatiti the councilor representing Bufumbula parish at Nabbongo Sub County has welcomed Wekomba’s candidature saying that during her tenure, there was a lot of economic empowerment of women and the young people.

Derrick Nangosya a resident of Lyambogo village, Simu parish in Bukhalu Sub County says challenges like poor roads and lack of power are yet to be handled. Nangosya wants Bulambuli people to elect leaders who can ably lobby for better services.
