Police in Mbale city on orders of deputy resident city commissioner has arrested a father whose wife is on the run for torturing their child - her stepson.
The father is Dan Kituno, a resident of Namatala ward Industrial city division in Mbale city.
The children they tortured is aged nine years of age, a primary three pupil of Nabuyonga primary school located at Industrial city division in Mbale city.
The head teacher of Nabuyonga primary school, Grace Kabuni, called Hamuza Banja, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner of Industrial city division after seeing burn wounds on the boy's body. On asking the boy what happened, he revealed that it was his step mother and father who burnt him accusing him of being big headed.
Deputy RCC Hamuza Banja came took the police went to the boy's home were they arrested the father, Dan Kituno. Kituno pleaded guilty and requested for forgiveness. He said that the boy has been a thief and big headed. Kituno is currently detained at Mbale central police station waiting to be charged of child neglect and torture. His wife is on the run.
