Authorities at Mbale City Council have received a new motorcycle that will aid in disease surveillance.

Dr. Moses Mugonyi the Mbale City Health Officer says that the new motorcycle provided by the Ministry of Health will aid the surveillance focal person to lookout for diseases in the community and report appropriately.

According to Mugonyi, the motorcycle will also help the surveillance focal person to encourage the community to embrace government programmes like immunization and also ensure that people go to health facilities for proper medical care.

James Kutosi the Mbale City Senior Public Relations Officer says that the new motorcycle replaces the old one which has often been breaking down and affecting disease surveillance. With the new motorcycle, Kutosi is optimistic of timely disease surveillance reports.
