Namisindwa Deputy Resident District Commissioner Solome Juliet Namara has ordered for the arrest of two members under Buwasibi Parish Development Model SACCO.
The two are part of Buwasini group found in Namboko Sub County and are alleged to have extorted money from beneficiaries of the government programme.
Solome Juliet Namara the Namisindwa Deputy RDC says Julius Nabende the chairperson of the group has been arrested while Joseph Wanagata an executive member is on the run. According to Namara, the two have been demanding for money ranging from 50,000 shillings to 100,000 shillings from applicants under the Parish Development Model programme.
She says Nabende is being held at Bubutu Police Post. Namara has warned SACCO leaders against frustrating government programmes through extortion.
