An early morning accident in Kapchorwa District has claimed the life of a child and left four adults with severe injuries.

Chesang, the Sipi Region Police spokesperson, says that the accident occurred
around 3:30 am on Wednesday in Kaptama Village, Munaria Sub County along the
Kapchorwa-Mbale Highway.
According to Chesang, a Fuso Fighter Truck registration number UBB 5811C laden
with sand from Mbale to Kapchorwa town veered off the road and overturned
before it rammed into a home next to the highway killing a child.
It also injured the mother and three others. He identifies the deceased as
Gloria, 2, while the injured are Florence Siwa 35, the mother to the deceased,
Andrew Malinga,42, the driver of the vehicle, Bosco Nyokos,27, a turn man, and
Alfred Chemoywo 31.
The body of the Toddler is lying at Kapchorwa hospital mortuary pending
postmortem while the injured are receiving treatment at the same facility.
