James Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Secretary General has expressed concern over the concerted efforts of certain individuals driven by personal ambitions to tarnish the party image and undermine its integrity.

In a press statement issued today, Nandala says that the attacks were not a recent development but have been ongoing for some time. The statements are in a reaction to a purported FDC consultative meeting convened by the party spokesperson, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda where various accusations were made against Nandala and Amuriat.

According to Nandala, the attacks are aimed at creating false narratives and propaganda in order to gain power and personal wealth at the expense of the party's reputation. The statement also refuted claims that the FDC leaders received large sums of money from President Museveni to hand over the party.

He emphasized that FDC is a party with structured governance and stakeholders, and it cannot be treated as a personal asset to be handed over to anyone. He emphasized that the party believed in democratic processes and would proceed with the renewal of party leadership through transparent elections, as outlined in their electoral roadmap.
