The
Sironko District Forum for Democratic Change Chairperson Patrick Waniale has
dismissed the recent defections by some members to the ruling National
Resistance Movement (NRM).
The Sironko NRM party administrator
Wilson Wambaka has been receiving new members claiming they are from the
opposition FDC party. But Waniale has denounced the defections saying that some
of those being paraded as leaders from FDC have never held leadership positions
in the party.
Waniale accuses the NRM leadership in
Sironko for orchestrating a deliberate plan to undermine FDCs strong support in
the District. According to Waniale, the actions by the NRM leadership in
Sironko are aimed at painting a rosy picture to justify a need for additional
funds towards mobilization.
In a recent interview, FDC Secretary
General Nathan Nandala Mafabi urged members to remain committed to the struggle
saying that the party plans carry out mass mobilization and any attempts to
confuse them should be disregarded.
