The Bamasaba Cultural Institution has set Saturday, August, 3 as the date for the official launch of the traditional circumcision season.
Moses Kutoi the Institution’s Minister for
Culture and Heritage says the launch of the traditional circumcision amongst
Bamasaba will be presided over by two heads of state at Mutoto Cultural Ground
in Mbale City. Kutoi says invitations have been extended to the Ugandan
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his Kenyan counterpart, Dr. William Samoei
Ruto. He has assured Bamasaba that all security measures have been in place to
ensure the launch is peacefully organized.
According to Kutoi, unlike 2022 where they
budgeted for 100million shillings for the official launch, this year’s budget
will rise to 500million shillings. He says the huge number of people expected
to attend the launch explains the increase in the budget.
