The Namisindwa District Executive is now fully constituted.

There was chaos last week during the swearing-in of the LCV Chairperson and the Councilors. This led to the postponement of other activities like the election of the District Speaker. On Thursday, the election of the District Speaker was overseen by Esther Nalungi, the Chief Magistrate at Bubulo Magistrate’s Court. The election was held at Bubulo Magistrate’s Court.

The race for speaker was between Moses Waburoko, the Councilor representing Tsekululu Sub County and Wilson Walimbwa, the Councilor representing Buwatuwa Sub County. Walimbwa won the race garnering 38 votes against Waburoko’s 19 votes.

Betty Nandutu, Councilor for Tsekululu Sub County, has been appointed Secretary for Social Services; Bosco Sheba (Magale Town Council), Secretary for Production, Works and Technical Services; and Pius Mude, Councilor representing Lwakhakha Town Council is the Secretary for Finance and Administration.

Emma Bwayo, the LCV Chairperson for Namisindwa District, said the lack of a functional executive had hampered the smooth flow of District work. Bwayo called upon the District Executive Committee members to work hard for the development of Namisindwa saying that he will not hesitate to ring changes in the course of the five year term.
