This call was made by Bwayo Emma the Namisindwa Male Youth Councilor in the wake of children breaking off for the second term holidays. Bwayo says the three weeks’ holiday might appear short but can ruin the lives of the children if not closely monitored.

Speaking at the end of term two party for Mercy and Love Nursery and Primary School in Lwakhakha, Bwayo asked parents to guide their children by ensuring that they engage in productive activities during the holiday.

Robert Buyera the Director Mercy and Love Nursery and Primary School asked parents to always discipline their children and monitor the friends they spend time with.

Sophie Kuloba the Namisindwa District Education Officer (DEO) says the increased cases of school dropouts, teenage pregnancies and drug abuse are as a result of irresponsible parenting.
