The two wives to Former Lutseshe County Member of Parliament in Bududa District Godfrey Watenga Nabutanyi have advised women in polygamous marriages to desist from hate and rumor mongering for stable families.

The women; Nanzala Beatrice and Nekesa Christine said this on Saturday at their customary marriage function held in Bubisikwa lower cell, Kuushu town council. Godfrey Watenga Nabutanyi officially married the two women he has stayed with for the last 18 years.

According to Nekesa Christine, being down to earth and understanding one another is the reason they have continued to stay together.

For Nanzala Beatrice, they do not tolerate rumors in their marriage and it is the reason they have stayed with their husband for this long. Nanzala says it is also God’s favor that they are able to amicably solve problems in case they come up.

Kibone Annete, a sister to Nanzala says that their parents at first doubted the success of the marriage but later got convinced that it could actually work out. Kibone says the manner in which the two women have lived under one roof is unbelievable.

Godfrey Watenga Nabutanyi says since 2004, he has been with the two women and things have been good. Watenga says he is now living his dream after a successful customary marriage ceremony.
