Christians have been asked to be peaceful and united during this Christmas Season.

This call was made by the Bishop of Mbale Diocese Rt. Rev. John Wilson Nandaah at a ceremony to pray for Bubulo West Parliamentary aspirant Chris Matembu Wataka on Saturday.

Matembu survived a grisly accident at Nangwasi village along the Mbale-Lwakhakha road. The accident involved Matembu’s Toyota Harrier car, registration number UBQ 028V where three people died and 19 others got injured. An angry mob descended on Matembu, beat and left him in critical condition. He was hospitalized for some time.

Now Bishop Nandaah says Christmas is a time to celebrate and show people that there is need to have faith in Christ who brought peace and joy to the world.

Nandaah also warned against domestic violence and acts of careless spending during the festivities.

Chris Matembu Wataka, the Bubulo West Parliamentary aspirant in Manafwa district applauded the Bishop and all those who prayed for his full recovery after the nasty accident. Matembu also reiterated the need to desist from wasteful spending during the festive season.
