State Minister for the Elderly Dominic Gidudu Mafabi has asked workers in the formal and informal sectors to save with the National Social Security Fund(NSSF) for a brighter future.
Gidudu sounded the call at a regional workshop for stakeholders organized by the ministry of gender in partnership with NSSF. According to Gidudu, saving with NSSF is one way of preparing for the future. Gidudu says that government plans to crack the whip on companies not remitting savings of their employees to NSSF.
Milton Owor, NSSF’s People and Culture Officer asked government to take stern action against companies not adhering to the savings requirement.
Jackson Wakweika the LC5 chairperson for Namisindwa district asked for increased funding of the labour offices to enable timely handling of employee complaints.
