Fresh information has emerged on Rogers Busiku Muliro, a former police officer who recently became the National Unity Platform (NUP) Mbale City chairperson.

The Elgon Region Police Commander, Bosco Otim, has distanced himself from Busiku, revealing that his contract with the Uganda Police Force was terminated due to indiscipline.

During a press conference, Otim emphasized that if Busiku claims to have worked with the police and applied for early retirement, he should provide documentary proof.

Busiku, who joined NUP recently, criticized the Uganda Police Force for what he described as human rights violations and exploitation during his 26 years of service. He claimed that he had worked as a police constable and a community liaison officer, defending the police’s actions on local radio stations in Mbale.

Last week, during the handover ceremony for NUP officials in the Bugisu region, Busiku was officially appointed as the NUP Chairman for Mbale City. However, his appointment has sparked criticism from his former police superiors, who have raised concerns about his credibility and questioned his tenure in the police force.
