Bungokho Central Parliamentary hopeful Michael Werikhe Kafabusa says that he will activate village to village visits to boost service delivery once elected in the 2026 general elections.

Addressing residents of Khamoto parish, Bungokho Sub County in Mbale District on Saturday, Werikhe said that village to village visits will enable him remain in touch with the challenges of the people and therefore work towards lobbying for better service delivery. Werikhe urged the people of Bungokho Central to elect a hands-on leader for the position of Member of Parliament.

Werikhe also called for issue-based campaigns urging candidates to desist from hate speech. According to Werikhe, in bid to attract sympathy, some political actors told voters that he had actually died.

Sam Warunya a resident of Shibiniko village in Khamoto parish credited Werikhe for lobbying for the extension of electricity to several areas under the original Bungokho South County.

Werikhe will battle Masaba Muhamood, Richard Wanda (incumbent), Wamono George, Robert Wambede, Muleyi Timothy and Waira Francis for a chance to become the NRM flag bearer for the position of Member of Parliament for Bungokho Central.
