3 People in Police custody over attempting illegally evict their Mother

Legal International a non-government organization working hand in hand with Police are holding three people in Namisindwa for attempting to evict their mother on a piece of land.

Viniket Manana the public relations officer for Legal International identifies the suspects as Stephen Karima the Namisindwa district Human resource officer, Stephen Kurima the head teacher, Maresi primary government primary school and Oliver Nasimiyu a nurse at Mbale city health center.

Manana says Keremetina Mukite a mother to the three suspects reported the matter to their office saying she had been attacked and ordered to vacate the land left by her late husband. He says they followed up the matter with Police which led to the arrest of the three people. Mukite says she has all supporting documents regarding the land left by her late husband.

Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson confirms the arrest saying the three face charges of assault.
