According to Magombe, because of the commercialization of politics, the environment is charged with aspirants willing to sacrifice everything for political power. Magombe says that despite the high political stakes at the various elective levels, aspirants should encourage their supporters to remain peaceful.

The FDC flag bearer for the position of District Woman Member of Parliament for Sironko Nafuna Phiona Banga has decried the violence in the just concluded NRM primaries for Members of Parliament. According to Banga, there is life after elections and violence cannot be used as a tool to political victory.

Ali Madoi the District Councilor representing Buyobo Sub County attributed the violence in the NRM primaries to candidates who do not accept defeat and often resort to illegal means to express dissatisfaction over election results.
