Bubulo East Member of Parliament, John
Musila is backing the ongoing fight against corruption by the government.
Legislators Yusuf
Mutembuli (Bunyole East), Cissy Namujju (Lwengo Woman) and Paul Akamba (Busiki
County) are battling corruption related charges. Other legislators are
reportedly lined up for questioning in relation to corruption tendencies.
According to Musila,
he supports President Yoweri Museveni’s stance on fighting corruption. Musila
also says he has appended his signature on MP Theodore Sekikubo’s petition
which seeks to cause the censure of four Parliamentary Commissioners accused of
illegally receiving a UGX 1.7 billion service award.
With the arrest of
legislators from the ruling National Resistance Movement party over corruption
allegations, Musila says this will sound a strong warning to public servants
with intentions of dipping their hands into state resources.
