Four people in Bukhabusi Sub County, Namisindwa district are being held on allegations of extorting money from beneficiaries of government’s parish development model(PDM)

The three include Willy Namanda the Bukhabusi parish chief, Fred Kamuli the LCII chairperson for Bukhabusi parish, Michael Wandukwa the Bukhabusi PDM SACCO Chairperson and Robert Kuloba the secretary Bukhabusi PDM SACCO.

Their arrest followed an order by Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner Hajji Imram Mualuga at a consultative meeting yesterday at the District Headquarters. Muluga said that they received complaints about alleged extortion in the Sub Counties of Bukhabusi, Namitsa and Mukhuyu.

Muluga also ordered all parish chiefs who have extorted money from beneficiaries to refund it before Monday next week or face arrest.

Andrew Wabweni the Namisindwa PDM focal person says it is unfortunate that the parish chiefs are sabotaging the programme through extortion.
