Emma Bwayo the Namisindwa LCV Chairperson-elect has asked elected leaders to use the fasting period to forgive and reconcile.

Bwayo’s call comes as the Muslims started fasting in the holy month of Ramadan while the Christians also started fasting during the lent season.

Speaking at the funeral of Catherine Nambuya in Buwangota, Namabya Sub Cunty in Namisindwa District, Bwayo said that it is embarrassing for elected leaders to keep complaining and warning those who did not support them during the election season. Bwayo said it is not proper for leaders to hold grudges with people even after the elections.

He said that instead of holding grudges against people, leaders should channel their energy into promoting government programmes.

Malemo George, the Buwangota clan leader challenged newly elected leaders to serve diligently and be mindful of the problems affecting the communities they represent. Malemo urged elected leaders not to disappoint the people who voted them into office.
