Police
in Manafwa District is hunting for a man who waylaid a 15 year old Primary
Seven girl and defiled her.
Rogers Taitika the Elgon Region
Police Spokesman says that on Saturday at about 11:30 pm in Buwasyeba village,
Namikelo parish, the victim, while on her way back from a party was waylaid by
one Joel Kitongo.
According to Taitika, the suspect
armed with a machete cut the girl’s left thumb, undressed her and forcefully
had sexual intercourse with her. Taitika says the suspect later fled the scene
with the victim’s clothing. Taitika says they have launched a manhunt for
Kitongo.
Taitika has called for responsible
parenting in a bid to save the lives of the girl children. He has given
assurances that they are hunting for the suspect.
