Two businessmen in the sub counties of Namaguli and Bunyafwa in Sironko District have lost close to 70 million shillings to armed thugs.
Dennis Ephraim Balwaniregha the Sironko Resident District Commissioner (RDC) identifies the two businessmen as Mike Nakedi operating from Kipande trading centre in Namaguli Sub County and Kalifani Musosi from Bunandalu B village, Bunyafwa Sub County.
According to Balwaniregha the thugs riding a numberless motorcycle stormed Nakedi’s home in Nakidye village, Bulujewa parish at around 9pm and went away with money amounting to 6.5 million shillings and his smartphone.
He says they then proceeded to Kalifani Musosi’s home in Bunyafwa Sub County at around 10pm where they robbed over 60million shillings. According to the RDC, they have started investigating the matter to have the suspected thugs arrested.
Haruna Gaboba the LCIII chairperson for Namaguli suspects that the thugs could have come from Mbale City.
