The State House Anti-Corruption Unit
has picked up two officials at Busolwe town council in Butaleja District on
allegations of abuse of office.
According to State
House Anti-Corruption Unit, the two officials Julius Hirya, the twon clerk and
Charles Namutiga Guloba an assistant engineer are accused of irregularly
approving contracts for the design of the town council structural plan. Hirya
and Guloba are also accused of not following the procurement procedures.
As a result, this
allegedly led to the loss of public funds when World Host Consultants Ltd was
irregularly awarded a contract. The two officials are being held at Butaleja
Police Station.
