Bernard Mafabi the school’s head teacher says that
the rains pounded the area for around two hours destroying the roof of the
classroom blocks.
Mafabi however says that no pupil or teacher was
injured by the heavy rains. He says that following the destruction of the
classroom block, government needs to come in and offer support.
Bukiabi Sub County LCIII Chairperson Nicholas
Soita says that the rain also destroyed 30 houses and crops like bananas,
cassava and coffee. Soita says neighboring Sub Counties of Bumbo, Bumwoni and
Lwakhakha have also been affected by the rains.
Alex Molokoi the councilor representing Bukiabi
sub county to the district says they have asked the Sub County leadership to
furnish the District Disaster Committee with the information about the disaster
for transmission to Disaster Ministry for urgent action.
