Sironko District Woman legislator Asha Nabulo Mafabi has commissioned five boreholes in Sironko District.
The five boreholes are in the Sub Counties of Dahami, Nalusala, Buwasa, Sironko town council and Mutufu town council.
The boreholes were constructed by MP Asha Nabulo in partnership with One Ummah, a non-government organization.
According to Nabulo, addressing the water problem calls for collective effort from local leaders and development partners to extend safe and clean water to communities across the district.
Irene Nabende, the women’s chairperson for Bunabonyo village, said women and girls previously walked long distances in search of water and this exposes them to sexual violence.
