Heavy rains destroy property and crops in sironko District

Heavy rains have left residents of Bumulisha Sub County, Mutufu town council and Bumalimba Sub County counties loses after their houses and crops were destroyed.

 


Meris Mugide and Michael Wanambwa all residents of Maluku village in Bumulisha Sub County say that the Saturday night rain pounded the area for six hours and destroyed all crops and houses.

 

Dan Weduku one of the affected residents wants government to provide relief to the people hit by the disaster.

 

Geoffrey Sibi the LCIII chairperson for Bumulisha Sub County says that following the destruction of food, the affected areas will be hit by hunger in the long run.

 

David Livingstone Giruli the Sironko LCV Chairperson has asked the local leaders in the affected areas to furnish the disaster management committee with information on the margin of destruction caused by the rain for appropriate action.
