The office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has handed over 174 iron sheets to Buwuma primary School, a government aided school in Lwakhakha town council, Namisindwa District.
In December last year, a heavy storm left several classrooms with no roof and students were studying in the open. As a result, the school head teacher Moses Munyala wrote to the District authorities for support. The school received 80 used iron sheets which were used to roof some classrooms.
Hajji Imran Muluga the Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner while handing over the 174 iron sheets to the school authorities said the support follows a letter by parents seeking support from government through the disaster preparedness ministry under office of the prime minister.
Jackson Wakweika the Namisindwa LCV Chairperson has urged the school authorities to put the iron sheets to proper use.
John Musila the Bubulo East Member of Parliament says despite supporting Buwuma primary school, other schools that were devastated by rain will be supported in the near future.
