Namisindwa Police are on the spot for allegedly frustrating justice for a sodomy case reported last week.

Rogers Mamoha, a resident of Lwakhakha town council, was arrested on Thursday last week and detained at Lwakhakha police station under case number 21/05/02/025. Mamoha is alleged to have sodomized his colleagues whose names have not been divulged.

Relatives of the victims who have preferred anonymity claim they have been pressing Police to arraign Mamoha in court. They also accuse the Police of trying to commercialize the case so as to aid Mamoha’s release. The relatives are concerned that since Mamoha’s arrest last week, he has not appeared in court.

Solome Juliet Namara the Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner says that Mamoha’s delayed appearance in court is as a result of ongoing Police investigations. Namara says that Mamoha is still in custody pending sanctioning of the case file before he can appear in court.

But Elgon Region Police Spokesman Rogers Taitika declined to comment on the matter saying that he had not been furnished with the details.
