Secondary Schools in Manafwa District have attributed the good performance in UCE 2023

Secondary Schools in Manafwa District have attributed the good performance in the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations to discipline by students.


At St. Edwards Secondary School in Manafwa Town Council in Manafwa district, of the 122 students who sat, 8 passed in division one 26 in division two and 29 in division three. Kukiriza Samuel and Watuwa Joshua were the top performers with 22 and 24 aggregates respectively.

Wesonga Alex, the Deputy head teacher St. Edwards S.S says discipline and concerted effort by parents, students and teachers explains the academic success.

Bugobero High School, a government aided school in Manafwa district had 123 students of which 6 passed in division one, 21 in division two, 30 in division three and 59 in division four. Nalela George, the head teacher Bugobero High says cooperation between parents, teachers and parents is the reason they registered an improved performance.

At Mandela Comprehensive High school in Lwakhakha Town council Namisindwa District of the 51 students who sat, 8 passed in division one, 18 in division two and the rest in division three. The best performing students were Wanikina Collin and Wasike Emmanuel with 18 and 20 aggregates respectively.

Namirembe Annet, the head teacher, Mandela Comprehensive High School says the good performance in science subjects moves hand in hand with government’s plan of prioritising science education.
