Sironko District Councillors Urged to Concentrate on Service Delivery

Sironko LCV Chairperson David Livingstone Giruli has asked District Councillors to channel their energies towards service delivery as opposed to fighting him.

Responding to reports that a section of councillors want him to shuffle members on the District Executive Committee, Giruli said that the Local Government Act empowers him to appoint and disappoint any executive member at any time without being pushed by anyone including councillors.

Giruli says the councillors pushing him to make changes should concentrate on serving the people who elected them.

Herbert Musika the Secretary for Social Services accuses the councillors of being envious of the members serving on the District Executive Committee. According to Musika, the Forum for Democratic Change which Giruli subscribes to has to work hand in hand with councillors from the ruling National Resistance Movement for the development of Sironko.

He says that if the councillors feel some members of the executive have weaknesses, they should present them in council instead of making wild allegations in the media.
