The Manafwa District Roads Committee is now constituted with Kigai Hosea Kimono as its chairperson.
Kigai Hosea Kimono is also the Manafwa District LCV Chairperson. The roads committee is served with a responsibility of overseeing road maintenance and development across the District.
Kimono was elected at the committee's first meeting on Monday. The committee comprises Members of Parliament representing Manafwa, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), District Engineer and other district officials.
Bubulo West Member of Parliament, Chris Matembu Wataka said the committee had confidence in Kimono's leadership and expects him to coordinate efforts towards improving the district's road network.
According to Matembu said the committee will prioritise roads currently in poor condition, including Sibembe Bulako, Masaka and Sibanga Kitsi. He added that the roads are among those earmarked for maintenance.
Butiru County legislator, Godfrey Wakooli Matembu, said members had agreed to regularly inspect roads across the district to identify those in need of urgent attention.
