The opening of a new church in Bukhofu Sub
County, Manafwa District will help in the fight against criminality and
immorality in the community.
This is according to Pastor Kangala Moses
speaking at the opening of the newly constructed House of Prayer Church,
Bukhofu. Kangala said that the new Church was constructed with funding from
friends from the state of New Mexico in the USA and aims at improving the moral
fiber of the community by pushing for Godly practices.
He says that following the opening of the new
Church, they plan to set up a school and a health centre to support the
community.
Butiru County legislator Godfrey Matembu
Wakooli said that the opening of the church will supplement government effort
in fighting criminality and encouraging the community to embrace government
programmes so as to boost income at household level.
Khwaka Violet, a resident of Bukhofu Sub
County is optimistic that the newly opened church will help in sensitizing the
community about the need to fight cases of gender based violence and high cases
of alcoholism.
