Sironko MP Wants Youth to Embrace Vocational Education

Budadiri East legislator Isaiah Sasaga has asked youth to embrace vocational education in a bid to curb the high unemployment levels.


Sasaga who is also the Director St. Catherine Vocational Training Institute in Bukise Sub County, Sironko District made the call while addressing students who completed their vocational studies at the school.

According to Sasaga, students who undertake vocational courses start their own jobs as opposed to job hunting. He says that most countries are prioritizing vocational education and the Ugandan government needs to follow suit.

Mary Namono and Dina Neumbe from Buhugu Sub County and Sironko town council respectively have completed hair dressing courses. The two have urged girls to go for vocational training so as to be productive to the country.

James Makoba who has completed a course in carpentry has asked government to provide start up to students who have completed vocational studies.
