Civil Servants Warned Against Engaging in Partisan Politics

Civil Servants in Mbale District have been warned against engaging in partisan politics.


The warning was sounded by Mbale District Chairperson, Muhammad Mafabi on Thursday while speaking at a ceremony to send off the retiring Mbale Chief Administrative Officer Luke Lukoda. At the same function, Outgoing Amuria Chief Administrative Officer Angela Akurut was introduced as the new Mbale Chief Administrative Officer.

According to Mafabi, some civil servants are engaging in partisan politics contrary to the public standing orders. Mafabi who did not divulge their names said that some civil servants were also spreading falsehoods about him and some other officials. He advised civil servants to first resign before engaging in partisan political acts.

Luke Lukoda the outgoing CAO highlighted some of his achievements as protection of District land from encroachers and a cordial working relationship between the technical and political teams.

Incoming CAO, Angela Akurut described herself as a team player and someone who works towards achieving stated targets.
